Join us for a walking tour of the Clifton neighborhood, adjacent to Crescent Hill, which includes the historic 1883 building on the grounds of the American Printing House for the Blind. On the two-hour, three-mile tour, we'll find evidence of the evolution of the area from a sparsely populated rural community in 1830 to a densely settled urban Louisville neighborhood. Tour will start at Crescent Hill Library and be lead by representatives of the American Printing House for the Blind. Bring comfortable walking shoes and call 502-574-1793 to register. Limit 25.
The Clifton Community Council invites everyone to attend a video presentation of 43 historic photos of the Clifton neighborhood dating from 1894 to 1948. Many of the photos depict scenes along Frankfort Avenue along with photos from The Tollhouse and KY School for the Blind. The historic photos were acquired in 1993 from the University of Louisville Photographic Archives, Filson Club, and through donations from Clifton residents. They were originally exhibited at Clifton's Pizza from 1993 to 2019, and last year were moved to United Crescent Hill Ministries.
