The Khan Academy  
The Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization where you can watch over 3000 educational videos for free. Topics include K-12 math, biology, chemistry, physics, finances, history, and more. They also have practice exercises and assessments.

The videos are short, especially made for internet viewing. In the math videos, you are looking at a blackboard. The instructor writes out the problem while talking you through it. In the other subject areas, there are often pictures accompanying the lesson. The videos have a comment section at the end for viewers to ask questions.

Digital Drawing & Painting With the Make Lab  
The Make Lab has been travelling to branches around town this month for imaging programs using our digital drawing pens. Teens can draw or paint on the computer using a variety of brushes that imitate actual paint brushes, pens, pencils, or dry media (like charcoal). The program we use also has a photo painting feature that allows you to create digital drawings and paintings from regular pictures.
