Patent and Trademark Resources

Patent and Trademark Resource Center- Louisville Free Public Library is a Patent and Trademark Resource Library. As such, we receive and house copies of U.S. patents and patent and trademark materials to make them available to the public. Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers - ICANN is responsible for the global coordination of the Internet's system of unique identifiers.
The Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation - Search the Modern Inventors Documentation Program (MIND) database to locate invention, technology, and science-related collections in archives, libraries, historical societies, and museums in the United States and Canada.

United States Patent and Trademark Office - Forms, fee schedules and general information about patents are available at this site. Links for foreign patents office websites are also listed.
United States Patent Searching - This site includes complete text and images for all patents issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) since 1790.
U.S. Trademark Information Page - Forms, fee schedules and general information about trademarks are available at this site.
U.S. Trademark Combined Mark Searching - Click on "Filing" to search for a trademark.
Google Patents - "All patents available through Google Patent Search come from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Patents issued in the United States are public domain government information, and images of the entire database of U.S. patents are readily available online via the USPTO website. Google Patent Search covers the entire collection of patents made available by the USPTO—from patents issued in the 1790s through those issued in the middle of 2006. We don’t currently include patent applications, international patents, or U.S. patents issued over the last few months, but we look forward to expanding our coverage in the future."
