- American Council of the Blind - Large organization of blind and visually impaired people.
- American Foundation for the Blind - Dedicated to addressing the most critical issues facing the blind population: independent living, literacy, employment, and technology.
- American Printing House for the Blind - "The American Printing House for the Blind (APH) was founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 1858, making it the oldest institution of its kind in the United States. APH is also the world's largest company devoted solely to creating products and services for people who are visually impaired."
- National Association for Visually Handicapped - NAVH has been serving the hard of seeing for almost 50 years.
- National Federation of the Blind - Large organization of blind and visually impaired people.
- NFB Newsline - A free service of the National Federation of the Blind, allowing subscribers to read newspapers through a touch-tone telephone. Applications are available on the National Federation of the Blind website.
- Talking Newspapers – A free service of the Kentucky Council of the Blind, allowing subscribers to read newspapers through a touch-tone telephone. Registered patrons of the Kentucky Talking Book Library are automatically eligible.

- National Federation for the Blind - Deaf-Blind Division. - A resource list for people who are deaf-blind.
Federal Resources
- DisabilityInfo.gov - The "gateway to the federal government's disability-related information and resources. Contains a directory of government Web links relevant to people with disabilities, their families, employers, service providers and other community members."
- SSI Disability - Search for information on applying for SSI Disability and other information. The disability section of the site is in the middle of the page.
- National Mental Health Information Center - From the United States Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, this link provides information for Kentucky.

- Brain Injury Association of America - "...The leading national organization serving and representing individuals, families and professionals who are touched by a life-altering, often devastating, traumatic brain injury (TBI). The BIAA provides information, education and support to assist the 5.3 million Americans currently living with traumatic brain injury and their families. "
- FIND of Louisville - "FIND of Louisville addresses the need to enhance the knowledge and skills of parents of children with disabilities, to ensure their effective participation in decisions regarding education and related services.."
- Kentucky Talking Book Library – Kentucky's Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped will send books on tape and braille books, through the mail, to individuals who have a visual or physical disability that prevents them from using standard print materials.
- National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped - A program of the Library of Congress, NLS administers a free library program of braille and recorded materials circulated to eligible borrowers by postage-free mail through a network of cooperating libraries..
Kentucky Schools and Educational Programs
- Jefferson County Public Schools - The Exceptional Child Education programs in the Jefferson County Public Schools are "provided to students with disabilities in Comprehensive and special education programs facilities/agencies."
- Kentucky School for the Blind - Located in Louisville, "the mission of the Kentucky School for the Blind is to provide comprehensive educational services to all Kentucky students who are blind and visually impaired, birth to 21."
- Kentucky School for the Deaf - The Kentucky School for the Deaf is located in Danville, Kentucky.
- Kentucky Department of Education - The Department of Education has many programs for exceptional students.
- Visually Impaired Preschool Services - The mission of VIPS is "to offer appropriate services to infants, toddlers and preschoolers who are visually impaired from birth to school age and to their families; to maximize each child's developmental potential through direct services, advocacy, and community education."

- Handspeak: A Practical Sign Language Dictionary - "The HandSpeak is an excellent introduction to get "taste" of the visual languages online. It is also beneficial for self-tutoring and fun learning, too. A new sign is added to the dictionary daily."
- American Fingerspelling Dictionary - At this site you can look at the symbol for a letter or type in a word and get the sign for the word.
- Listen Up Web - This site is has links to different sources for the deaf, from listserves, to resources for the deaf.
- Kentucky Association of the Deaf, Inc. - "The purposes of the Corporation is for mutual assistance and encouragement of deaf people and to secure moral, intellectual and social improvement of their educational and vocational opportunities. Also it promotes measures to improve conditions and standing in society at large of deaf persons in Kentucky."
- Hearing Loss Association of America - "The Hearing Loss Association of America is the nation’s largest organization for people with hearing loss.. and exists to open the world of communication for people with hearing loss through information, education, advocacy and support."
- Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Acts as an advocate for the deaf and hard of hearing to the Governor and General Assembly as well as providing services to those in need.
- Kentucky Department for Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services - Part of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Resources, "Our mission is to provide leadership, in partnership with others, to prevent disability, build resilience in individuals and their communities, and facilitate recovery for people whose lives have been affected by mental illness, mental retardation or other developmental disability, substance abuse or an acquired brain injury."
